Market Size - Isolated Phase Bus Best answer on the web

  • I want to know the size of the USA and Canada market in US Dollars for
a product called "Isolated Phase Bus" or sometimes just called "Iso
    phase bus".
Can you help me? The only suppliers in North America for this product
are: Delta-Unibus located in Illinois, Calvert located in Mississippi
or Louisiana, & GE located in Canada. A history of this market would
be great, but what I really want is the present market size. This
product is closely associated with the Electric Utility Generation
Market. I NEED THIS ANSWER BY SEPTEMBER 10, 2002!!!

  • Tom,

Got two! Waiting for the last.

What is the absolute deadline? Did you say the 20th of September?? It would help to know the time (West Coast (pst), Midwest (cst)...)

  • Claudietta,

I really need just Iso Phase Bus. I do not need all the bus duct types. Specifically I do not need Non-Segregated Phase Bus which I am certain is included in Powell's.
I do not know who AZZ is. The three I requested are:
    1. GE in Canada,
    2. Delta-Unibus (a division of Powell) but not to include Unibus division just Delta-Unibus division. Delta-Unibus (not Unibus) just makes Isolated phase bus. 3. Calvert and again there just the Isolated Phase Bus, not the Non-Segregated Phase Bus
I will appreciate what you can get specific to ISOLATED PHASE BUS!

    Tom

    Dear Claudietta-GA,

Isolated Phase Bus (also known as Iso-phase Bus) looks like Pipe, but in actually contains electric current carrying bars which are insulated from the outer skin (the pipe). It is used almost solely for carrying electric power from Large Generators to Large Transformers.
I need to know the USA or USA and Canadian Market size. This should not be extremely difficult. There are only 3 manufacturers: Calvert, Delta-Unibus, and GE. Perhaps if you just called them, they would answer their last year 2001 sales and forcast for 2002, and extimated 2003. Here is some contact information:

  • Dear Astom,

How absolute is your deadline of 9/10? Can you wait at least one more day?
I got more information on iso phase bus ducts, and managed to leave messages at the investor relations desks of Delta-Unibus and GE Insustrial Systems. I got the corresponding revenue number from AZZ Inc (parent of Calvert).
    Claudietta

  • Dear Astom,

Calling the three companies resulting in one disclosure, one rejection to answer such details, and one non-response to the call. The one disclosure mentioned that the specific number should not be disclosed to the public. I figured I would do it in aggregate. So, since I got at least one rejection, there is no answer to your question.
Thanks for using Google for your questions, and I am sorry I could not get a full answer.
    Claudietta

  • Tom,

This statement: "In a two player market between D and C, the market for 2001 is $20.6 million. When G becomes known, I'll let you know the total market via a clarifiaction." is purely for isolated phase busway ducts. It does not include any other type of busway ducts.
I apologize for not being clear. I see how you could have gotten confused. The attached additional information was solely additional information on the parent companies of Calvert and Delta-Unibus, in case it searved you well.
Please let me know if you need further clarification,
    Claudietta

  • This message is to Claudietta,

I now can still use an answer up until the 20th of September.

You mentioned that the one response you got should not be disclosed to the public. I can assure you that this is for my use in making a presentation in Italy. My presentation in Italy is on Monday the 23rd of September.
I can use any information you come up with. May I suggest you call the other two companys again - asking them to verify the information you have. Your continued work is appreciated.
    Tom

  • Tom,

I haven't forgotten about this. I am attempting to make contact with the other two.
    Claudietta

  • Note to Claudietta,

How are you doing? I really need the answer as to the market size. I guess tomorrow is the last day I can use the information. Monday in Italy, I must make the presentation with or without this information. Will you please give me what you have from the one company? Maybe we can arrange some reduced fee for your services.
    Tom

  • Claudietta,

When I am in Italy, I will try to access your answer. But I do not understand your last comment about, "whether it is PST, CST, etc."
Please feel free to send it directly to my email, unless we are violating some Google rules. My email is elcousa@attglobal.net
    Tom

  • Tom,

I have talked to the other two company controllers, and have agreed to give me the info through email. I got an email today saying that they would send me today. I am not sure about the other.
I will post whatever I have for you. But by when? Give me the last minute deadline tomorrow, and whether it is PST, CST, etc.
I am sorry it is taking a while.

    Claudietta

  • Dear Astom,

Could you clarify what an isolated phase bus is? Is it a motor, turbine, switchboard, wire, controller, panelboard, transformer... Does "bus" stand for busway?
Also, my initial market search resulted in very little information on "isolated phase bus", since it is so specific. I wonder if you would be interested in more general market data for the Electronic Instruments & Controls industry. This would include among other things, current-carrying wiring devices, electrical industrial apparatus, electric transmission & distribution equipment.
Let me know if this would satisfy your question.

    Claudietta

  • Dear Claudietta,

Two is great. Give me them by the 20th and you can take $130. Give me the other also and you take the $200. I really appreciate your efforts. I NEED THE TWO NOW!! I can make a rough guess on the 3rd based upon the other two.
    Tom

  • This message is for Claudietta-ga. Claudietta, I still need all the information and will still pay the $200 for a complete answer.
Please respond. Please note my new email address of amps@mfire.com

    Tom
